Elwyn Toby

I’ve lived in the Macleay Valley all my life. I live in Bellbrook, which is a town 52 kilometers west of Kempsey. My tribe is Dhungutti.

I like Aboriginal art because of the stories behind them. My uncle used to help me paint when I was a boy. I love going spearing and looking for dhubal (witchetty grubs), turtles and on bush walks with my uncle. For great fishing I go to the mouth of the Macleay River. And my favourite spot for swimming is in the river at Bellbrook Bridge.

Sugar Loaf Mountain is also a special place for me, as it is a sacred mountain.
