Visitors and locals entertaining friends and family, will now find it easier to plan their holiday with the release of the Macleay Valley Coast visitor guide.

30,000 copies of Explore, Experience, Discover 2016-2017 will be distributed to accommodation houses and tourist attractions within the local area and should remain in use over the coming 12 months.

According to Susannah Smith, Council’s Manager Economic Sustainability, the printed guide has proven a successful method of marketing the local tourism industry.

“The guide is available to download from our tourism website, which will reach those searching online when they plan a trip to the Macleay.

“Our research shows that when people are in the area they like to collect printed information and plan their activities or accommodation and keep the guide as a reference for their next visit. The printed guide is also a great option for locals who are exploring their area or have visitors staying” said Ms Smith.

The guide features 35 pages of new and top ten things to do in the area as well as a yearly event planner and tips on what to explore in the different areas of our tourism region. As a key piece of the promotional material for the region it will be distributed at major events, camping and caravan shows and as part of special event promotional packs going to exhibitors and journalists.

“This year’s guide has been strongly supported by the partners in our tourism industry and they should be very proud of the end result. It really highlights our fantastic region and will remain timely for the peak holiday periods of the year ahead,” said Ms Smith.
