The public amenities block adjacent to the Visitor Information Centre in South Kempsey Park will soon undergo a full internal and external refurbishment as part of council’s four-year Delivery Program.
Council’s Manager of Technical and Civic Services, Trevor Dickson, said the amenities block was identified as one of the key priority projects in a recent community survey.
“Almost 300 residents provided feedback via council’s Community Priorities survey in 2017 and the results from that identified upgrades to public amenities across the shire as priority projects,” Mr Dickson said.
“The refreshed amenities block will result in better facilities for visitors and locals to South Kempsey Park and will complement the current road improvements to Lachlan St.”
Council advises that the facility will be fenced off and closed to the public from Monday 29 January while the works are undertaken.
Alternative public toilets will be made available for use during this time at the front of the Museum/Visitor Information Centre building.
The refreshed facility is expected to open in late April 2018. Council thanks the community for their patience while these works are carried out.
