Yarriabini National Park

Yarrahapinni Mountain

Pack a picnic and drive to Yarrahapinni Mountain, marvel at unparalleled views of the entire Macleay Valley Coast from the top (498m-high). Make sure you stop at the enchanting Pines Picnic Area halfway down the mountain where you can eat amongst the spectacular towering candle and flood gums as well as hoop pines, then walk off lunch with a stroll along the Way Way Creek rainforest walk (an easy 300m!).  Learn about the dreamtime story for the area and admire mosaics depicting the dreamtime legend.  There is free gas barbecues, camp oven with cooking trays, sheltered tables and pit toilets.

Yarrahapinni Scenic Drive

Enjoy the most amazing views along the Yarrahapinni Scenic Drive. Commencing from Grassy Head Reserve, you will take in the best that Yarriabini National Park and Way Way State Forest have to offer. You will drive via dirt roads to The Pines Picnic Area where the stands of hoop pine and flood gums give an ethereal feel to the picnic area. Then take a stroll through the nearby rainforest following the creek bed. Before stopping at the Mount Yarrahapinni Lookout with breath taking views of the Macleay Valley Coast.
