Situated midway between Sydney and Byron Bay, this 25-room boutique hotel is nestled in the iconic surf town of Crescent Head. Formally known as ‘The Wombat Resort’, the process has been one of gentle transformation, honoring the hotel’s historical architectural elements and unique eccentricities. These elements have been integrated with an organic modernist, forward-thinking concept, striking a balance between what the hotel was in the past and what it is to become.
The rooms offer an acute sensitivity to textures and an irreverence for tradition. Channeling the laid-back ease of 1970s Australian surf culture, surf shacks and hunting cabins, warm wood interiors are infused with an abundance of raw, handcrafted textures, and artisan-produced furniture, hand-woven rugs, tapestries and walls adorned with art and objects found over the years, along with collaborative pieces from artisan surfers such as Peter Crawford, Ozzy Wrong, and Aleph Geddis.
At the core of Sea Sea Hotel lies our Surf Club, a multi-dimensional space with a revolving program of musical performances, social gatherings, and art exhibitions.
Equipped with a surf and souvenir shop, audio lounge, fireplace, and it’s home to our signature restaurant and bar. The modular event space is crafted to host exhibitions, live performances, and private events.
